Where do you rescue dogs from?
We rescue dogs from shelters throughout Texas, focusing mainly on the DFW area, but pulling from others when we can. We also take in many stray and abandoned animals from the streets. When space allows, we accept owner surrenders. We believe in second chances.
How do I adopt a pet from Apollo Support & Rescue?
Please fill out an adoption application. Applications are reviewed by a staff member then forwarded to the foster or facility to schedule meet-and-greets. We ask you to thoughtfully consider what kind of pet would fit well in your family now and for the lifetime of the pet. This is a commitment and these animals are counting on you to be their family for the rest of their life.
Can I adopt an animal if I am out of state?
Yes! We accept out-of-state adoptions.
If you live in the Pacific Northwest (PNW), we deliver adopted pets once a month via transport. The animals arrive in a climate-controlled van with two drivers that rotate driving and sleeping for a non-stop trip. All animals are monitored the entire trip. The van departs from Fort Worth, TX on a Thursday afternoon and arrives in the PNW on Saturday. Times vary depending on road conditions/weather. There are three stops at Petcos in Portland, Oregon or Lacey and Tukwila, Washington where you can pick up your pet. We do not deliver the animals to homes. If you are wanting to adopt from another state but are near our route to the PNW, please let us know before finalizing an adoption so we can confirm arrangements.
All other out-of-state adoptions would need to pick-up in the DFW area. Some fosters may be willing to meet partway, but this is not a guarantee.

What if I can’t keep my pet anymore?
Contact us to share the situation. If you adopted the dog from Apollo, we always take our dogs back. If the dog was not adopted from us, we will try to find a spot with a foster or provide you with additional resources. Do not abandon your animal to fend for itself. Email us at info@apollosupportandrescue.org for assistance.
How do I receive my pet's spay/neuter voucher for TCAP?
Vouchers are included in adoption folders for locally adopted pets. If you did not receive one or have misplaced it, please email asrmedicalrequest@gmail.com for a replacement. Out-of-state adopters do not receive vouchers but should send proof of spay/neuter to inquire@apollosupportandrescue.org.
How are donations used?
Donations are used to provide care and medical treatment for our rescue animals until they are adopted. We supply fosters with all needed supplies, and we also have a facility with three buildings that houses 90+ dogs on property. We fundraise for specific projects/improvements so everyone knows what they are donating to. All Board of Directors are volunteers.
